Volunteer Mission April 2012 – Almost Ready!

On Monday, April 9, a volunteer mission team from Western NC will be departing for Bolivia to continue work in support of the Kory Wawanaca Children’s Home in Bolivia.  Our team will be commissioned during the 11am service at Central United Methodist Church on Sunday April 8. We ask that you keep these people in your thoughts and prayers as they offer their labor and their love to these Golden Children.

For anyone who has been to Bolivia or similar place you will know that the schedule is likely to change, however we will be departing on Monday morning, April 9, from Asheville and traveling to the Atlanta airport for a quick flight to Miami and then an overnight flight to La Paz.  We will spend our first day and night in Ovejuyo, located on the outskirts of La Paz, so that we can adjust to the altitude.  (The Children’s Home in Ovejuyo in located at 13,000 ft above sea level.)  We then travel to the Children’s home in Tacachia and then back to Ovejuyo before returning to the US on April 19.  Again, things may change at any moment and flights may be delayed, however that is part of the adventure!

The experience in Bolivia includes so many things, one of which is music.  Lots of music!  Here is a sampling from a volunteer trip a few years ago:
