Juana Cocarico Yana – Home Administrator/Social Worker
Juana was incorporated into our staff in October of 2007. With an upbringing in a rural community and the Methodist Church, Juana not only brings her educational knowledge to the home but also a deep understanding of Bolivian culture and agricultural expertise. She has a wonderful spirit seen through her beautiful smile and caring personality. She has a one-year-old daughter and is often accompanied by her husband Hilarion who also serves as the home’s dentist.
Marcial Condori Cuellar – Farm Administrator
Marcial entered our family in February of 2009. He is a veterinarian who grew up in the altiplano of Bolivia. He has fallen easily into the position of the “Big Brother” of our home as he has quickly won the hearts of all of the children. Our farm has seen many improvements since his entry and he does a wonderful job of educating the children in agriculture and the care of our animals which consists of chickens, guinea pigs, cows, and rabbits.
Rita Tarqui Mamani – Cook
Rita is from Tacachia and has been helping the home plant its roots in the community since our first day. She has officially been a part of our paid staff since January of 2008. Having raised 8 children of our own, she is an expert in caring for and feeding lots of children. She loves to be busy and is always happy to give 100% to the home and all of its activities. From baking bread in our mud oven to growing her own herbs and spices, Rita is very well-rounded. She is a wonderful cook and caretaker and we are lucky to have her and her children as part of our family.
Ruth Jurado Alvarado – Educator
Ruth joined our team in February of 2008 and has been a blessing to the home ever since. Her strict but loving nature has been a great help in the rehabilitation of all of the children of our home. She sees her job as a calling and leans on her faith to give her the patience and abundant love needed for this position. The children are very blessed to have Ruth in their lives and they recognize and show gratitude for this blessing.
Hilda Quispe Choque – Educator
Hilda answered the call to join our home in August of 2008. She lives a very God-centered life and shows His unconditional love through her actions. A wonderful example of humility and strength is always evident in her presence. Hilda is very creative and also shares her musical talent through the many hymns and praise songs that she teaches the children. She is a wonderful mother-figure to the children of her home.
Marlene Cuaquira Alcon - Assistant Educator
Marlene began working with us in July of 2009. She is a single mother who left an abusive marriage to find a new and healthier life for her and her son Manuel. Her son also lives with us and has been welcomed with opened arms by our other children. Marlene studied early child development and brings a lot of knowledge and love to our home. She is outgoing, full of energy, and very happy to have found a life that her and her son can thrive in.
Wilmer Huarachi Usnayo – Farm Assistant
Wilmer is from the village of Tacachia, participated in the construction of the children’s home, and has been with us ever since. A hard-working young man and a caring father, Wilmer has always been a huge support for the home. He lovingly shares of his vast knowledge of agriculture and the community and ensures the productivity of our farm. His wife Betza also plays an active role on our farm and is always willing to lend a helping hand. We are so grateful to have Wilmer and his family as a part of our team.
Eulogio Mamani Saravia – Driver/Administrative Assistant
Eulogio began transporting our team in May of 2009. Always willing to lend a hand in any way possible to all of our activities at the home, Eulogio has been a wonderful addition to our team. As a father of two boys, he has great understanding of the care and affection needed by children. He is very active in the Methodist Church and shares openly in our staff devotions. Eulogio is a joy to work with.
Gavin & Carrie Brown – Executive Directors
We are proudly from the mountains of North Carolina and recently married. Both graduating from Appalachian State University we headed straight to Bolivia to build and develop Kory Wawanaca Children’s Home. Everyday it is our goal that we give our lives up to God as an offering so that we may be instruments of His love here in Tacachia and in the world.
